EDUCATION

“Education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world”
– Nelson Mandela

Using the practice of Expressive Arts in education is not just about creating art; it is about using the creative process to unlock students’ potential, foster their holistic development, and prepare them for an uncertain and complex world. It focuses more on the journey or process of creation rather than the final product or end result. Being a safe and non judgemental container, it encompasses a range of creative disciplines like visual arts, crafts, music, drama, and movement, used to enhance learning and personal development. These art forms are not just for aesthetic appreciation but are integral to education, fostering creativity, emotional expression, and self-awareness. Through expressive arts, students can explore their identities, get in touch with their own emotions, voice their perspectives, and develop a unique worldview.

How it's used:

Based on objectives, institutions can plan sessions during the extra curricular activity schedule or even plan specific curriculum based sessions during school hours. Using an extension of curriculum based learning through the arts the students find it more engaging, exciting , inclusive, enriching and makes their learning experience more personal.

Therapeutic Applications through Curated Workshops: Expressive Arts can be used therapeutically to support students’ emotional and mental well-being by engaging them in workshops and programs curated based on age and objectives. Weekly /Monthly workshops for different age groups based on selected themes and can be designed with the help of the student counsellors.
